Priority Medical Institution for Referrals and Consultations

On September 1, 2023, our hospital was certified by Okinawa Prefecture as a "Referral Priority Medical Institution.

This was established as a result of a review of the national system, which certifies outpatient facilities that focus on utilizing medical resources as core medical institutions in the region, to clarify outpatient functions, strengthen cooperation, and facilitate patient flow. Priority Referral Medical Institutions are defined as medical institutions that require a letter of referral for outpatient consultations and those that provide outpatient care requiring advanced medical equipment and facilities such as surgery, therapy, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

This system is expected to reduce waiting time for outpatients, facilitate smooth examination and treatment of patients, and reduce the outpatient workload of working physicians by sharing the roles of "family doctors" and "key medical institutions for referrals".

Currently, a fee of 2,200 yen is charged for the first visit without a letter of referral, but this fee will be changed to the amount shown below effective March 1, 2024. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
